Community Spirit for the Win!

Sienna - Community Spirit for the Win!

February 17, 2025

Life in Sienna is something special, with beautiful homes, plentiful amenities and a packed calendar of resident events that create an undeniable essence of community spirit.

But don’t take our word for it — the Greater Houston Community Associations Institute (CAI) Chapter recently awarded the Community Spirit Award for a fourth time to the Sienna Associations. Given for last year’s Fall Flannel Fest, the award recognizes an event that exemplifies outstanding efforts to promote community spirit. The festival brought together flannel-clad residents for a day of fall fun, Texas-style. It is one of more than 70 classes, concerts, seasonal celebrations and other events hosted annually in Sienna.

“The Community Spirit Award is a highly competitive award, and we are thrilled to win this year,” said Sandy Denton, General Manager of the Sienna Associations. “We are proud that Sienna consistently brings home CAI awards.”

The local CAI chapter hosted its first awards gala in 2016, and since then, Sienna has been honored eight times, including the best-of-the-best honor for Community of the Year, 3,000+ units in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Sienna’s lifestyle program also earned the Community Spirit Award in 2016, 2017 and 2024. The Associations team took home the award for Innovation in Communications in 2016.

The Associations staff is the lifeblood of the Sienna experience, not only hosting events for all ages, but maintaining Sienna’s many common areas, 45+ parks and playgrounds, two fitness centers, two water parks and other amenities. The team is also responsible for communicating with residents via a printed and online newsletter, community LED signs, frequent eblasts and more. And because staff is located onsite, homeowners can easily talk to someone in person whenever they have a question. Staff members — many who are also residents — have firsthand awareness of community issues, which is another bonus. This close interaction between the association and residents cultivates trust and develops a friendly, responsive environment where people want to live.
