Cross Creek West residents will soon be able to treat themselves to those viral Target finds — that irresistible dollar section, those colorful housewares, the chic (and affordable) clothing and those gotta-have-them office supplies — a lot closer to home with the opening of a new 149,000-square-foot store just a few miles up the street.

The new Target is anchoring the long-awaited Texas Heritage Marketplace, a 165-acre project by NewQuest Properties that’s bringing retail, dining, apartments and medical office space to the west Katy and Fulshear areas at the southeast corner of I-10 and Texas Heritage Parkway.

Construction has begun on the $400 million Target-anchored development as of January. According to developer NewQuest Properties, the center is expected to be built by the second quarter of 2026, but there’s no timeline yet for the Target opening.

Target isn’t the only thing planned—Milano Nail Spa is also slated for the marketplace, while other tenants are proposed, according to NewQuest. The Texas Heritage Marketplace is preleasing now for more retailers and businesses. 

Including Target, the marketplace will feature 750,000 square feet of retail and dining options, 550 apartments across two multi-family communities, and nearly 300,000 square feet of medical office space and self-storage facilities.

Plus, the marketplace will be walkable and a hub for the community. Its design features green space and is centered around a Heritage oak tree that was relocated and saved during the recent construction of the Texas Heritage Parkway.
