Meet This Year’s Run for the Rosé Beneficiary

Sienna - Meet This Year’s Run for the Rosé Beneficiary

March 17, 2025

Last year’s Run for the Rosé benefited seniors in the Fort Bend community — this year’s event will help the children.

Set for April 12, the Run for the Rosé is raising money for Child Advocates of Fort Bend County, a non-profit organization serving child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect. Launched in 1991, the organization has helped approximately 23,000 children through two nationally-affiliated programs — Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC).

CASA

CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children in the foster care system by providing a voice for them in the court system. They receive an intense 30-hour pre-service training and complete 12 hours of continuing education annually. A CASA volunteer is assigned to every child in CPS custody in Fort Bend County — an accomplishment few other counties have achieved. These volunteers meet with their assigned children regularly as well as with teachers, doctors, foster families, biological families and others to assess medical, emotional, educational and physical health and needs. Their findings are written into reports and presented to a judge at every court hearing. The program has been proven to shorten a child’s time in foster care, provide a lower incidence of negative outcomes and better prepare children to leave foster care at age 18.

CAC

The CAC program works with partner agencies in a collaborative approach to lessen the emotional trauma of child victims, helping them and non-offending family members cope, heal and move forward from the abuse. Free services by a professional staff of clinicians, social workers, advocates and other professionals include forensic interviews, victim and family advocacy, medical referrals, therapy/mental health services, case coordination and criminal court advocacy. In addition, community volunteers are trained to serve as mentors to children, adding another layer of support as positive role models.

Between the CASA and CAC programs, Child Advocates of Fort Bend served more than 2,500 children and families last year with 18,500 services.

A History of Support

The Run for the Rosé isn’t the first time Sienna has supported the vital work of Child Advocates of Fort Bend County. Over the years, we have been a frequent participant of the organization’s Christmas Home Tour, one of its largest fundraisers. With the help of more than 500 volunteers, last year’s event raised more than $200,000.

You Can Help!

Want to lend your support to Child Advocates of Fort Bend? One very easy way is to sign up for our Run for the Rosé 5K. The event will be 8-11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Sawmill Event Pavilion. In addition to the run — or, if you prefer, the walk — there will be a vendor fair, food trucks, hula hooping, cornhole, photo ops, breakfast bites and a glass of rosé at the finish line for participants.
