Riverstone - Residents Enjoy Treats, not Tricks at Latest EventOctober 16, 2013
Princesses, Superman (and woman!) and Iron Man were among the creatively costumed Riverstone residents attending the annual Fall Festival, one of many events hosted in the community throughout the year. Children got to select their favorite sweets at the trick-or-treat table and model air-brushed tattoos and painted faces. The bungee trampoline was especially popular and a local magician entertained families with a now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t show. More than 250 residents attended, and even larger crowds are expected for the annual Winter Wonderland, an event that invites residents to bundle up and play in 60,000 pounds of snow being brought in to delight youngsters and the young-at-heart. “We are adding 20,000 more pounds of snow this year, so there will be plenty for snowball fights, sledding and making snow angels,” said Natasha Hakala, Riverstone’s lifestyle director. “This annual snow event is a favorite among residents, especially since Houston’s temperate climate often means it’s the only chance kids might have to see snow.” |
