Cross Creek Ranch Schools Stand Out in 2014 School Rankings

Cross Creek Ranch - Cross Creek Ranch Schools Stand Out in 2014 School Rankings

May 07, 2014

A new report from the nonprofit research and advocacy group Children at Risk shows families in the west Houston master-planned community of Cross Creek Ranch attend some of the state’s best public schools.

Katy ISD’s Shafer Elementary and Seven Lakes Junior High School both earned A+ ratings from the study while Seven Lakes High School earned an A- rating.  Tompkins High School opened in the fall of 2013 and therefore was not eligible to be ranked.

Lamar Consolidated ISD’s Huggins Elementary earned a B+ rating, Wertheimer Middle School an A+ rating, Briscoe Junior High School an A- rating and Foster High School a B rating.

Children at Risk ranked every Texas public school across three indexes: Student Achievement (reflecting raw performance in key achievement areas); Campus Performance (measuring the effectiveness of the people and programs at a campus); and Growth (measuring the improvement over time in standardized testing).

This marks the ninth year the organization has conducted its rankings of Texas public schools.

Families in Cross Creek Ranch also will attend James Randolph Elementary School when it opens for the 2014 - 2015 school year.  Fulshear Junior High School and Leaman Junior High School will open for the 2016-2017 school year at a dual-school complex complete with new facilities for football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, soccer and band.

“We’re fortunate to offer families several outstanding schools in both the Katy ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD,” notes Cross Creek Ranch General Manager Rob Bamford.

Local colleges near Cross Creek Ranch include the University of Houston Cinco Ranch Campus, Houston Community College at Westgate and Lone Star College in Cypress.
