Edgewater - Living on the Waters Edge is Closer Than You Think in EdgewaterOctober 01, 2010
WEBSTER, TEXAS – Enjoying a lifestyle on the water is closer than you think. In Edgewater, Johnson Development Corporation’s new water lifestyle community, home owners can enjoy a marina and a place to dock their boats right in their own neighborhood. “Convenience is key for Edgewater,” said Bob Douglas, Edgewater’s General Manager. “With direct and uninterrupted access to and from the community via the NASA Parkway Bypass, residents can enjoy an accessible lifestyle on the water surrounded by amenities including a park, multiple water features, a promenade along the shoreline and of course, the community’s focal point, the marina.” Edgewater is a unique community both because of its location and its development of a marina. Edgewater’s marina also focuses on convenience as it is a portal to surrounding bodies of water. The marina will provide direct access to Clear Creek, which offers access to Clear Lake, Galveston Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. The marina will serve as a gateway to daylong or extended cruises thus reducing boat owners commute on every trip to their boat. Boat owners will be able to cut their commute even more by owning a home in Edgewater. At the Edgewater marina, boats will be parked in a protected cove in the heart of Webster, the central business district of the Bay Area. “If boat owners live in Houston, they can reduce their commute by as much as 20 minutes in each direction on every trip to their boats,” said Douglas. “That’s especially important for enthusiasts who essentially use their boats as a second home on the weekend. Of course, they can really cut their commute time and enjoy their boats daily if they also own a home in Edgewater.” Edgewater is located minutes away from Bay Area attractions which include a multitude of shopping, dining and entertainment options. Also nearby are Christus St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, affiliated with The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster and The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) facility in League City, now under construction.
With prices from the $250,000’s, models are now open in Edgewater by Coventry Homes and Newmark Homes, and early sales are a success. Both builders offer a dozen design options in Edgewater to complement the unique setting of the water-oriented community. |
