Meritage Homes has purchased 127 acres in the Imperial Sugar Land development.
The homebuilder plans to develop 335 homes in the Fort Bend master-planned community, which is at Highway 6 and Highway 90. The acquisition represents a third of the land to be developed in the community and the new homes represent about half the single-family homes slated for the master-planned community.
“This is a terrific opportunity to establish a presence in one of Fort Bend’s true gems,” said Steve Harding, Houston division president of Meritage Homes, in a statement.
Floor plans and prices for the Meritage homes will be announced in early 2015.
Meanwhile, Imperial’s first neighborhoods are beginning to take shape with the construction of garden-style, luxury patio homes and two-story townhomes.
