Tuscan Lakes - Tuscan Lakes offers active lifestyleNovember 10, 2009
Tuscan Lakes is a master-planned community brimming with activities that keep residents on the go — whether they’re hitting the jogging trails along the lake or leading to the water park or simply gathering with neighbors for a host of activities coordinated by the community’s energetic lifestyle director. With a full calendar of events that showcase the community’s recreational amenities, residents enjoy fitness classes — such as the high-intensity fitness boot camp, along with Bunco, a book club and special events such as this fall’s Halloween Trail of Treats, a one-mile stretch where costumed children could trick or treat with family and friends. Another popular event was October’s National Night Out Block Party, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of residents. “We’re a very active community,” said lifestyle director Robin Mitchell. “I try to balance major events with ongoing activities to keep residents engaged throughout the year.” Planned for 1,850 homes, the 870-acre Bay area community is dedicating more than 150 acres of open space to enhance its Mediterranean style. Architectural elements mirroring the style of Tuscany are integrated into amenities and common areas including an aqueduct at the main entrance, parks, pools, lakes, nature preserves, greenbelts, walkways and jogging trails. Residents enjoy a resort-style recreation complex, with an arched arcade, stone accents and a decorative tower. The swimming complex, offering a tot pool, lap swimming area and zero-entry area with spray park, has nearly 5,300 square feet of water play. Adding to its attractiveness, the pool wraps around a large, circular rise landscaped with Italian cypress trees. The complex also features a gathering space anchored by a massive stone fireplace and shaded by an arbor, and a large children’s playground. Offering a broad range of homes, Tuscan Lakes recently added to its roster of builders by introducing KB Home, which offers an array of designs in the community, priced from the $130,000s. Also new to Tuscan Lakes is national builder D.R. Horton and local favorite CastleRock Communities. The three join an impressive slate of existing builders, including Newmark Homes, Wilshire Homes, Chesmar Homes, Meritage Homes, Highland Homes and Coventry Homes, which offer designs in eight neighborhoods including Sovana, with prices from the $130,000s; Sonoma and Bel Terra, from the $160,000s; Ravenna, from the $180,000s; Belagio, from the $200,000s; Cortona and Toscana, from the $290,000s; and Sedonia, from the $300,000s. Masterful land planning allows for many cul-de-sac homesites, as well as properties that border green space and waterways. Custom builders offer designs from the $600,000s to the millions in Siena, Tuscan Lakes’ custom neighborhood. A gated village, Siena offers half-acre homesites secluded on cul-de-sac streets or bordering one of the many lakes found throughout Tuscan Lakes.
