Tuscan Lakes - League City Tops List of Best Texas Cities for Job Seekers

Looking for a job? Head to the Houston suburbs. A recent study of the best Texas towns for job seekers put League City in the No. 1 spot and Sugar Land No.3.

The study, conducted by consumer finance website NerdWallet.com, analyzed data from the U.S. Census and the Bureau of Labor Statistics on population growth, unemployment rates and median income to answer these questions:
1. Is the city growing?
2. Do people earn high salaries?
3. Are most people employed?

Even though the space program is contracting, the survey zeroed in on League City's location near the Johnson Space Center, which "provides aerospace jobs" and other major industries, including energy, medicine and tourism. "League City is the largest city in Galveston County and is renowned for its beautiful marinas, which offer easy access to a variety of boating activities," the survey noted.

Five of the 10 cities were in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
