Sienna - Still Time to Register for April 24 Texas Sienna 10March 22, 2016
Spots are still available in the inaugural Texas Sienna 10, an April 24 race that already has more than 500 registrants. Part of the Texas 10 Series, the race features a 10-mile, five-mile or kids’ one-mile race. Participants accrue points toward cash prizes in the Armadillo Cup, which awards top point earners in an array of male and female age categories. “The Armadillo Cup is the only event that awards prizes and assigns age categories in five-year increments,” said William Fowlkes, race director. “Participants score points through the year by racing in our different events. Racing clubs can also earn points toward the 10 Gallon Cup.” The new Sienna Plantation race is the third race in the series and is a 15-point race. Fowlkes says the race is being designed for all ages. “We want the whole family to be involved, whether they are volunteering or racing or just running for exercise,” he said. “The post-race party should have something for everyone, too.” A highlight of the party will be the Crazy Cash Giveaway, during which 10 random racers in the 10-mile race will win $100, five participants in the five-mile race will win $50 and one child from the kids’ one-mile event will win $100. The race is open to the public. Cost is $60 for the 10-mile race, $50 for the five-mile race and $20 for the kids’ one-mile run. Receive 15 percent off using the discount code SIENNA.
