Johnson Development Lands Most Communities on National ListsJanuary 17, 2017
Premier residential developer Johnson Development Corp. has the most master-planned communities listed on two recent reports of the nation’s top-selling developments. Fort Bend’s Riverstone was ranked in the top 20 U.S. communities by both Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) and John Burns Real Estate Consulting. The 3,700-acre development is the highest-ranked Houston-area community on either list. Builders sold 441 homes in Riverstone last year. Johnson Development’s Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear was listed at No. 22 by RCLCO and tied for No. 23 on the John Burns Real Estate Consulting report with 377 new home sales in 2016. Woodforest in South Montgomery County was ranked No. 26 and No. 27, respectively, by RCLCO and John Burns Real Estate Consulting with 365 sales. Sienna Plantation was listed at No. 30 on both lists with 359 new home sales. David Jarvis, Senior Vice President with John Burns Real Estate Consulting, said Johnson Development communities appeal to the demographics with the most buying power — “Equalers” and “Balancers.” Born in the 1960s, Equalers saw a shift in more equal participation regarding taking care of the home and children. Balancers — born in the 1970s — are even more family-focused, striving to balance work and home. Both highly value quality of life. “With more than 10 percent of the top 30 communities created by Johnson Development, it’s obvious the company has correctly zeroed in on delivering what these major target markets desire,” Jarvis said. Late last year, Johnson Development also was ranked as the Houston area’s busiest residential developer, with six projects included on a list released by the Houston Business Journal of the area’s most-active communities. In its 42nd year of development, Johnson Development has 17 active communities — 14 in the Houston area, two in Dallas-Fort Worth and one in Atlanta. |
