Harvest Green - Pick a Peck of Peppers at New Weekly Farmers MarketsMarch 09, 2017
Picking up a peck of pickled peppers just got easier with the introduction of a weekly farmers market at Harvest Green, 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday. The ongoing market, the first of which was held March 4, is located at 8939 Harlem Road, Richmond, TX 77407 and will feature just-picked fruits and vegetables from the Richmond community’s on-site Village Farm, as well as additional products such as honey, cheese, spices and sauces, and fresh brewed coffee. Previously, the markets were held on a monthly basis, but the enthusiastic and continued support of the Fort Bend community convinced Harvest Green farmers that weekly markets would be welcome. Market-goers can stop by the Village Farm produce trailer and peruse weekly selections of fruits, vegetables and herbs picked at their peak ripeness within 24 hours of the market, when the produce has reached its juiciest, sweetest, freshest and most nutritious potential. Other vendors will include Loam Agronomics, which oversees Harvest Green’s Community Supported Agriculture program; Salve Naturals; Great Harvest Bread; Chilesquiles; Birds and the Bees Farm; Ginas Acres (eggs and grass fed beef); Timmys Tasty Organic Lemonade; SheCupcakes; The Jam Lady and many more. The Village Farm is Harvest Green’s centerpiece amenity, but there are other advantages to living here. Residents can have weekly boxes of vegetables delivered to their front door when they join the Loam Agronomics CSA program. The Farmhouse is a brand new recreation complex opening in the spring that will offer relaxation and fitness activities in the form of a resort pool, splash pad, fitness center and a lakeside amphitheater.
