Imperial - Sugar Land Ranks Among Top Suburbs in Texas

When it comes to the ‘burbs, Sugar Land has it all according to Niche.com, which ranked it one of the top 10 suburbs to live in Texas.

Home to master-planned Imperial, Sugar Land ranked No.9 on the well-known neighborhood online review site’s 2017 list based on cost of living, quality of schools, job opportunities, low crime rate and local amenities.

Niche.com notes that the median household income of residents is a very comfortable $105,000 per year — double the national average. The median home value in Sugar Land is $267,700 with 82 percent of residents owning their own homes. The site awarded the Fort Bend community an “A+” grades for its schools, diversity, job opportunities and family lifestyle.

Imperial residents have always known that Sugar Land boasts a lifestyle like no other. Located 20 miles southwest of downtown Houston, Sugar Land is home to major employers such as Aetna US Healthcare, Baker Pertrolite, Inc., Fluor Corporation, ONDEO Nalco and Schlumberger Companies. Children attend top schools in the award-winning Fort Bend Independent School District.

When it comes to activities, restaurants and shopping, there is no need to travel to downtown Houston — although it’s an easy commute when you are in the mood for something urban.
