So many holiday activities, so little time! Riverstone residents are perfectly placed to indulge in all of their favorite holiday activities — from visits with Santa to concerts at the Smart Financial Centre and everything in between. Take a look at these fun, family events: Special Santa Time First Colony Mall - JC Penney Court Santa will hold court at First Colony Mall, and you can reserve time with him! Book a photo op so you can skip the line and have the elf to yourself. Santa at Sugar Land Town Square Santa will be at Sugar Land Town Square for a meet and greet with his biggest fans. A donation box will be available to collect new and unwrapped stuffed animals for Fort Bend Rainbow Room’s Christmas Project. Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center The holidays will be celebrated with a variety of activities throughout the month, but two dates stand out because Santa will be in the house! On Dec. 17 from 12-4 p.m., you can get your camera and snap a #ElfieSelfie with Old St. Nick. On Dec. 23, children can enjoy Cookies with Santa. Unleash your inner elf and create cookies for Santa from noon-2 p.m. and then enjoy a meet-and-greet with the man in red from noon to 4 p.m. Holiday Song and Dance Houston Symphony Sugar Land Series: Handel's Messiah Behold the power of the music and words of Handel’s masterpiece. This Houston Symphony tradition will get you and your family in the true spirit of Christmas. Hear beloved solos and choruses, from “Rejoice Greatly” to the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Music & Mistletoe with First Colony Church of Christ First Colony Church of Christ’s band will be warming up Town Square with the sound of its blended contemporary and classic Christmas music as it performs modern and a cappella versions of your holiday favorites. Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker Hurricane Harvey could not dampen the Houston Ballet’s spirits and although their theater was flooded, the show must go on. Join Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy at The Smart Financial Centre for this beloved annual tradition. The Great Russian Nutcracker All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs. The Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ set concept designer Carl Sprague and its Russian focus. Mannheim Steamroller Christmas The spirit of the season comes alive with the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller. Enjoy Mannheim Steamroller classics, along with dazzling multimedia effects in an intimate setting. Something Different Serenitea Tea Room Enjoy a holiday tea service with assorted finger sandwiches, cranberry scones, mini gingerbread cakes and shortbread cookies, and your choice of a pot of tea. Sugar Land Holiday Lights The fourth annual Sugar Land Holiday Lights returns with more than 100 walkthrough displays and 2.5 million lights throughout the ballpark. This year will also feature a number of exciting additions, including a carnival outside the ballpark, new theme nights and more. Santa Claus will also be available each night through Dec. 23, along with a variety of food trucks and children’s activities.
