Can you believe it's almost time for Spring Break in McKinney? It seems like the holidays were just a few weeks ago! McKinney ISD will have the week of March 9-13 off and we are excited to round up fun events for those planning to stay put this year! Six Flags over Texas
We're starting this list off with a thrill! Six Flags in Arlington will open its doors for Spring Breakers March 7-22. Whether you prefer a rush or would rather some family friendly rides, there is something for everyone! Let's not forget about the fun shows and delicious food they have to offer as well! People often forget that McKinney is home to a phenomenal museum! The Heard museum is offering great events during the McKinney ISD Spring Break week. On March 7, they will be hosting Zip Line Day where you can fly through the treetops! Cost is $12 per person and you must register and pick a time slot to soar. On the same day, you can also try canoeing through the wetlands with a guided canoe trail tour – perfect practice for canoeing in Trinity Falls once the park is complete! Head downtown for a day full of exploration! The DMA is kicking off their Spring Break activities with a block party on March 7 from 10am-5pm. There will be free events and activities for the family. Is your child an animal lover? Give him or her the chance to play and learn about the animals at the Russell H. Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney! Children will be able to pet and interact with their shelter animals as well as engage in fun activities with other campers. Who knows, maybe they'll find a furry friend to take home! Register here.
