Allergies aside, spring is the perfect time to be outside! After all, McKinney, Texas parks offer some of the best picnicking spots around. We are excited to add to this list of great parks with our very own Trinity Falls B.B. Owen Park. It will stretch 300-acres and offer hiking and biking trails, as well as open spaces. While you decide which McKinney park you want to go to, we have created 3 delicious and easy picnic ideas to make your planning easier! Yin-Yang Sandwich
A versatile sandwich is key when picnicking at a park. This recipe is great because you can simply toss your ingredients in a backpack and head out the door! The Yin-Yang sandwich calls for the following: -1 loaf of Ciabatta or French bread -Mayo -Provolone -Sliced ham -Sliced salami -Jarred pepperoncini or roasted red peppers -Lettuce Once you set up camp, you can begin making the sandwiches. The best part about this recipe is that you can take out any ingredients your children may not want and still be left with a delicious creation. Add carrots and hummus as a side and you are ready to go! Fruit, Cheese, & Herb Skewers This easy recipe is fun to make and looks pretty, too! Simply get skewers and thread your favorite fruits, mozzarella balls, and your herbs of choice. For easy transport, place them in a mason jar until you're ready to eat them.
