It's that magical time of year in North Texas when the leaves start changing, the air gets crisper and the outdoors are bearable again: it's Fall! The AC isn't on full-blast anymore and there's no need to hide from the heat, so we've compiled a list of activities for you and your family to enjoy. Let's ring in the new season with some fun fall events! Internationally known, the State Fair of Texas is a legendary event that comes to DFW each fall. This year, the Fair will run from September 25th until October 18th and the theme is "Passport to Texas," spotlighting some of the state's special details and hidden gems. The Fair is a straight shot down Hwy 75 from Trinity Falls, so make sure to plan a weekend around all the fun rides and deep-fried goodness! Come one, come all to Oktoberfest in historic downtown McKinney! Covering 14 blocks of the downtown square, the annual celebration is a hometown favorite. The festivities start on September 25th, so come out and grab a bratwurst, listen to the yodels and put on that lederhosen! It's time for fun Fall Fridays at Grisham Farms! The farm is open to the public from 11 AM – 1 PM. This is great chance to feed the animals, get a peak at the farm facilities and learn about what makes Grisham Farms great. Fun for all ages! Guided Tours of Chestnut Square Take a peek at a simpler time in Texas history through the tours of the charming Chestnut Village. Fun for all ages, the guided tour shows you around the six buildings and explains the deep roots of McKinney. Tours take place on Thursdays and Saturdays. Look into their Trolley tours for an added bonus, which take place on the second Saturday of each month! Don't miss out on any of these fun fall events! And remember to enjoy our beautiful McKinney master-planned community by taking a walk in one of Trinity Falls many parks and trails. |
