The William B Travis Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program provides youth with much-needed skills in citizenship and leadership. Participants in the program often have better attendance, grades and graduation rates relative to students who are in general academic programs. The JROTC also helps prepare students for the challenges of college. The organization is just one of 48 clubs and organizations Travis High school students can participate in. Other programs include Habitat for Humanity, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, foreign language clubs, Model UN and seven honor societies. Travis is one of three schools located within Harvest Green. Before heading off to this high-performing high school, young residents attend Neill Elementary and Bowie Middle School — all schools in the award-winning Fort Bend Independent School District. |
