Cross Creek Ranch - Our New Schools are GroundbreakingMay 03, 2018
Just as the school bell gets ready to ring for the opening of our newest onsite school, Amy Campbell Elementary, Katy ISD is breaking ground on two more in Cross Creek Ranch. The district broke ground on Junior High #16 and High School #9 in a ceremony held at Cross Creek Ranch April 30. The new schools will be located next to each other, just a few blocks away from Campbell Elementary. Upon completion, we will have four schools located within our community. Slated to open in 2019, junior high will be a prototype design that will accommodate 1,400 students. It’s estimated to cost more than $54 million. The high school — expected to open in 2020 — will be a $206 million facility and will include the district's competition natatorium, a 25-meter pool with eight lanes. Other features include a performing arts center with seating for 900 and three main gyms. The new school will serve up to 3,000 students. Voters approved funding for the schools in November 2017. Amy Campbell Elementary will open this August. The 144,303-square-feet campus is located at 3701 Cross Creek Bend Lane. It joins Randolph Elementary as the second Katy ISD school to be located within our community. Currently, young Cross Creek Ranch scholars zoned to Katy ISD attend Randolph Elementary award-winning Seven Lakes Junior High and Tompkins High School. Young residents within the highly regarded Lamar Consolidated Independent School District attend Huggins Elementary, Dean Leaman Junior High, Fulshear High School and Foster High School. |
