Viridian - Robust Sales Earn Viridian Place Among Nation’s Top-Selling MPCs

With a nearly 25 percent increase in home sales during 2018, Viridian is ranked among the nation’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities, according to two recently released reports.

The Arlington development was ranked No. 37 on the 25^th annual report by  Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) of the best-selling communities last year. John Burns Real Estate Consulting lists Viridian tied for No. 42 on its annual list. Both housing research firms released their reports Jan. 3.

Builders in Viridian sold 357 homes in the Johnson Development community last year, an increase of 24 percent from the 287 homes sold in 2017. Although the community had been included on mid-year reports offered by RCLCO in 2017 and 2018, this is the first time Viridian has appeared on the two annual lists.

“The growth that started in 2017 continued throughout 2018, as people were drawn by our location just 20 minutes from downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth and the exceptional amenities and lifestyle offered here,” said Robert Kembel, general manager of Viridian.

Lifestyle was a draw for Amy Powell, who moved to Viridian last summer from Euless.

“There is always something to do here,” she said. “You don’t have to go out looking for things to do.”

Organizing the more than 100+ events held in Viridian each year is a Director of Fun who hosts many events at Viridian Lake Club — a resort complex that includes five pools, an 8,500-square-foot event center and a sailing center stocked with a variety of small sailboats. Residents also enjoy proximity to a number of community parks such as Fossil Park, Arrowhead Dog Park, Veterans Park, Kite Hill and Storm Park.

Eleven builders and three custom builders offer homes priced from the $275,000s to $2+ million in Viridian. Models will open this year in Elements at Viridian, a 141-acre neighborhood for adults age 55 and older. Viridian is one of six Johnson Development communities included on the RCLCO report — the most of any developer in the nation.
