Harvest Green - Chef Fest Stars Nominated for Tastemaker AwardFebruary 22, 2019
Chef Fest offers an opportunity to sample delectable dishes prepared by talented local chefs, many of them already stars in the Houston culinary scene. Some of our chefs are just beginning to make names for themselves, and three were recently nominated for a CultureMap Tastemaker Award in the Rising Star Chef of the Year category. Dawn Burrell of Kulture, Jane Wild of The Dunlavy and Jonny Rhodes of Indigo are three of the 10 chefs nominated for the award, which will be presented on March 27 at Silver Street Studios. Rhodes was recently named a James Beard Award semi-finalist in the Rising Chef category. Finalists will be named on March 27 with winners announced in May. Rhodes’ Indigo restaurant also has been named No. 8 on Texas Monthly’s list of the Best New Restaurants in Texas. If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit these amazing restaurants, we have great news. Each will be presenting a dish, featuring locally sourced ingredients at Chef Fest March 10. Burrell will be serving up her Carrots Four-Ways with Crispy Pork Jowl while Wild’s Salted Potato with Carnitas, Mushrooms and Fennel Carrot Pico is not to be missed. You’ll also want to sink your teeth into Rhodes’ Snow Pea and Preserved Citrus Tartlet. Even better, you will be able to watch these chefs in action at the Harvest Green Village Farm, 8939 Harlem Road. General tickets are $95 for adults, $30 for children ages 5 to 16 and free for ages 4 and under. Tickets include all food and five drink tickets for adults 21 and over. Child tickets include non-alcoholic beverages. A VIP experience is available for $130 and includes everything in the general admission ticket as well as access to a private lounge with a bar serving premium cocktails, a unique dessert experience and on-site parking. A portion of the proceeds benefits I’ll Have What She’s Having whose mission is to support women's health initiatives. |
