Bite Nites Return with Food Truck Favorites March 8

Riverstone - Bite Nites Return with Food Truck Favorites March 8

February 25, 2019

Five of Houston’s most beloved food trucks are rolling into Riverstone for the first Bite Nite Friday of the season March 8.

The purveyors of scrumptious street eats will be parked in front of The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Boulevard, from 5:30-9 p.m. Another family favorite will arrive along with them — Pixar’s “Coco,” which will be projected onto a 25-foot screen for the enjoyment of all.

Heading up the roster of rolling restaurants will be the winner of Edible Houston’s 2018 Best Food Truck of the Year award, Ripe Cuisine. Houston’s favorite vegan food truck will serve up globally-inspired dishes including banh mi, vermicelli bowls, beet falafel plate and jackfruit carnitas. The food truck has proved so popular that chef-owner Stephanie Hoban will soon be opening a brick-and-mortar version named Verdine in The Heights.

Burger lovers have been following Foreign Policy for nearly a decade, drawn by an innovative fusion of international ingredients. Inspired by Houston’s cultural diversity, the truck serves up Korean pitas, Greek fries and American burgers.

Chef Chris Zettlemoyer also will be on hand with fresh local fare melding his Cajun beginnings with the flavors of Texas. Don’t miss the bistro sliders or the melt-in your mouth pulled pork sandwich.

Wylie St. Tacos’ colorful food truck is matched only by its colorful (and original) Mexican food. The Texican — a savory concoction of chorizo with velvety avocado, crispy fried plantains, mixed peppers, and onion in a warm tortilla — is a Houston favorite.

Finally, pay a visit to the fantastic vintage soda shop trailer housing the malt shop treats served up by Mary Had a Little Party.

Once you’ve dined, spread out your picnic blanket and set up your lawn chairs on our event lawn and enjoy the show.

Bite Nite Fridays take place once a month. Admission is free. Dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed. Stop at the ATM as not all trucks accept credit cards. The next Bite Nites are scheduled for April 19, May 10, June 16, July 12, Aug. 16, Sept. 13 and Oct. 11.
