Grand Central Park - We Reached for the Stars and Caught ThemAugust 26, 2019
At Grand Central Park we are constantly reaching for the stars in everything we do — whether its creating outstanding events everyone can enjoy to our striking billboards. Recently, we caught two stars awarded by the Texas Association of Builders (TAB). During the organization’s annual dinner on Aug. 8 we took home two prestigious Star Awards for Best Special Event and Best Billboard. Star Awards are the only statewide tribute to excellence in the home building industry and recognize the outstanding work of builders, remodelers, architects, designers, and sales, marketing, and construction professionals in Texas. Our recognition for last year’s NYC Comes to GCP event will come as no surprise to the more than 1,000 people who attended our Big Apple-inspired street fair. With an array of activities and food worthy of New York City’s Central Park we were able to spread the news about our community and have fun doing it. The best of the “City That Never Sleeps” was on display including a living statue, a magician, a chalk artist drawing the Statue of Liberty, a “news stand” souvenir and a Rockettes-style show from a local high school dance troupe. Visitors were enchanted with our “I Love GCP” shirts fashioned after “I Love NYC” shirts and the antique Yellow Cab photo opportunity. Traditional NYC foods were on offer including hot dogs, Russo’s New York Pizzeria pizza and New York-style pretzels. One lucky event-goer who enjoyed this bite of the Big Apple was be able to experience the big city for themselves by winning the grand prize giveaway. Driving by our community last year, you might have seen our award-winning billboard announcing our annual Bark in the Park event. This billboard’s message practically leapt off the canvas with a fun-loving dog caught in mid-stride. We’re pretty sure the adorable pup as well as the great color scheme drew your attention. It did for 39 percent of our attendees who attributed their event presence to that billboard. This year Bark in the Park will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 and we invite you and your furry friend to join us. It’s sure to be a star attraction. |
