Riverstone - Riverstone announces plans for water park, recreation complex

Riverstone is making a splash with a new major amenity, a resort-style recreation complex that will open in 2014.

The facility will include an expansive pool with twisting slides, in-the-water tanning areas and a zero-entry beach. A community center will anchor the pool and will have a deck overlooking the water. Plentiful seating and shade structures will make lounging by the pool comfortable. The complex also will include numerous tennis courts, a playground and much more.

The complex will be located on a new segment of University Boulevard that is currently under construction. When this segment opens in late 2012, it will be the primary roadway through Riverstone, connecting Highway 6 and U.S. 59. Construction on the recreation complex can begin soon after road construction finishes.

The recreation complex will be the third facility to open in Riverstone. Other amenities include a bark park, fishing pier, tennis courts, numerous trails and the distinctive waterways that give Riverstone its name.
