Harvest Green - Harvest Green Posts Record-breaking Sales in First Half of 2020

August 11, 2020

Home sales in Harvest Green reached an all-time high in the first half of 2020, particularly during the past three months.

Sales are up 67 percent in the Richmond community, which boasts a 12-acre community farm. With net sales for the year currently at 351 homes, Harvest Green has already surpassed its projected annual sales goal of 318 homes. More than two hundred homes in the community have been sold within the past five months.

“May, June and July were the best-selling months in the history of Harvest Green,” said Jerry Ulke, General Manager for Harvest Green. “In July, we delivered 69 homesites to Lennar, D.R. Horton and Newmark Homes, and 56 of them have already been sold.”

Net sales in the community have increased steadily since March when builders posted 31 sales. In April, 22 homes were sold and in May, another 45. Builders sold 47 homes in June and 91 new homes in July.

Recently, 120 45-foot homesites were delivered to builders David Weekly Homes and Perry Homes. Buyers are already snapping them up.

Chloe Collins, sales professional for Perry Homes, said the builder received 63 lots in what is currently the final section of Harvest Green. She sold 23 in the first three weeks and has 120 people on a waiting list.

“People are knocking down the doors,” Collins said. “Some people have been waiting five months to buy a home. It’s incredible. Normally I’m the one following up with people interested in buying a home, right now people are following up with me.”

Cynthia Allen, a sales representative with Newmark Homes, believes a combination of the pandemic and historically low interest rates are encouraging people to make the move to Harvest Green.

“People want to take advantage of those awesome rates,” Allen said. “Also, I think people started to rethink their current living situation. Living in apartments with so many people close to each other made them want a better living situation for their family.”

Allen has been selling homes in Harvest Green since 2015. The first sale in the community was a Newmark home. She said many of her buyers have been referred by family members.

Referrals make up most of Realtor Imran Bhaidani’s sales in Harvest Green. His B&P Team sold a record 26 homes in the community during the second quarter of 2020.

Bhaidani is also a resident of Harvest Green. He says he feels much of the attraction to the community stems from the location and the many amenities offered including the Village Farm, the Farmhouse recreation complex and the on-site Fort Bend ISD schools.

“Buyers see the value of owning a home in Harvest Green,” he said. “People want options and Harvest Green has 10 builders offering homes at a variety of price points. They see that they can have a good lifestyle here.”

Part of that lifestyle includes a focus on the health and wellness of residents.

“We provide the tools our residents need to improve their overall well-being so they can live a healthy lifestyle,” Ulke said. “People are very attracted to that which is why we are one of the 50 top-selling master-planned communities in the nation. We finished 2019 with 356 sales for the year. We are nearly at that number in just seven months this year. I believe it’s because people are looking for a community that promotes healthy living.”
