Riverstone - Riverstone Schools Earn A’s in EducationOctober 27, 2020
Riverstone residents are lucky. No matter which public school their children attend, they are sure to receive an excellent education. How do we know? Niche.com gave all of them an A. Each year, the highly regarded online research service ranks the best public high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in the nation as well as breaking them down by geographical area. Schools are rated based on up-to-date, publicly available data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, state testing results and the National Center for Education Studies. All four of our elementary schools were among the Top 100 Best Public Elementary Schools in the Houston area. That’s not surprising as all four also received A’s on their report cards from the Texas Education Agency. In addition, Sullivan Elementary and Commonwealth Elementary received an A+ rating from Children at Risk last year. Both of our middle schools were rated among the top 10 Best Middle Schools in Fort Bend County. Fort Settlement placed at No. 9 and First Colony at No. 10. Both schools also scored high on measures of diversity, academics and the quality of the teachers. Elkins High School placed at No. 86 out of 1,396 schools on the list of Best College Prep Public High Schools in Texas. Elkins boasts a strong, diverse academic program with more than 200 possible course selections including gifted and talented programs, honors programs and 21 advanced placement (AP) courses. The strength of our schools lies in the strength of our school district. Fort Bend ISD also received an A from Niche.com. It was rated one of the top 100 school districts in Texas and places at No. 24 out of 11,822 districts on the list of Most Diverse School Districts in America. We are proud of all of the students, teachers and staff that make our schools so wonderful. Congratulations! |
