Imperial - Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center Re-opens June 8April 23, 2021
Ready for a little family vacay? Then we have good news! the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center will re-open on Tuesday, June 8, with “Fun Summer Vibes” — a “tropi-cool” paradise destination. The museum has been closed for more than a year due to the pandemic but is now ready to welcome families back for the summer. Kids will be able to enjoy all of the regular exhibits such as Kidtropolis, a city for kids run by kids, and “How Does It Work?” This physical science-themed exhibit teaches children about simple machines through a series of fun science stations. Additional exhibits include Shocks & Jolts, which explores circuits and electromagnetism, and Cum Yah Gullah, which takes you on a cultural journey to the Sea Islands. There will also be live demonstrations and fun, summer-themed activities every day. The Discovery Center will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Spaces are limited and attendees must book in advance. Advance tickets will be available for sale in early May. Discovery Center Members will be invited to attend Members Preview Day from June 3 to 5. Memberships are now available for purchase. The museum will be following CDC cleaning and safety guidelines –— requiring face masks, maintaining six feet of social distance, booking timed entries and more for visitors’ comfort and safety. The museum is located at 198 Kempner Street right here in Imperial. Which means if you decide to be our neighbor, you can walk to the museum every day! How’s that for a great move? |
