Sienna - It’s a Ho! Ho! Ho! Time of Year!November 27, 2022
Sienna will be hopping with holiday happenings next month, with something for all ages on the calendar. And — in typical Sienna style — most of the events will include a charitable component as we work to brighten the holidays for everyone. It’s the spirit of Sienna and living here means merry memory-making for you and your family, as well as others. Take a look: Holiday Salsa Dance Party Sienna’s active adults ages 50 and older will be gathering for dancing and good times Dec. 2 at Sawmill Lake Club. Sponsored by Johnson Development, the event is free, but partygoers are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated to Sacred Heart of Jesus Social Ministry. Giving Tree Lighting Holiday revelers of all ages will descend upon the Sienna Amphitheater Dec. 3 for the fifth annual Giving Tree Lighting. This fun-filled event includes ornament decorating, holiday caroling and even a visit from St. Nick. Plenty of food trucks will be on hand, as well. Also onsite will be Toys for Tots to collect donations. The event is free, but residents are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated. Annual Holiday Decorations Contest There won’t be a better night to tour Sienna Christmas lights than on Dec. 8! That’s the night the landscape committee will be judging the best-decorated homes in the annual holiday decorations contest. Eight individual winners will be selected, and the committee is also going to pick the street or cul-de-sac that best exemplifies team holiday spirit! Adult Tennis Social Sienna tennis players will be getting into the swing of the holiday spirit with a tennis social on Dec. 9. Play will feature eight teams of fixed doubles for each level, with plenty of snacks, drinks and holiday fun mixed in. Each player is asked to bring one new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Breakfast with Santa Santa is popping in from the North Pole for a special breakfast with Sienna kiddos on Dec. 10 at Sawmill Lake Club. We predict many precious photos to be posted to social media following the breakfast! Ugly Sweater Mixology Class Sienna residents age 21 and over will be getting into the holiday spirit — literally! Pour Me Perfection will be at Club Sienna Dec. 16 to demonstrate how to make two holiday-themed cocktails – the Apple Pie Martini and the Whiskey in Winter. Trivia, giveaways and spiked hot chocolate will add to the fun. Farmers Market Farmers Market Partners Missouri City is hosting holiday markets Dec. 3, 10 and 17, giving people the chance to shop holiday handcrafts, candles, soaps, baked goods, jewelry, games and more. Food trucks and drawings add to the festivities. The market is open rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5855 Sienna Springs Way. Cool Fun Coming Up in January We can’t talk about upcoming resident events without a mention of one of Sienna’s most popular — Snow Blast! Tens of thousands of pounds of snow will be blown onto Club Sienna Jan. 7, providing opportunities to sled, make snow angels, throw a snowball and generally enjoy the type of fun usually left to our northern neighbors. It’s a beloved tradition Sienna residents look forward to every year.
