Woodforest - Bonterra at Woodforest Nears Close-OutMay 25, 2023
Bonterra at Woodforest — the first Houston-area active-adult community by Taylor Morrison — is nearing close-out, with less than a dozen homes available. Home sales in Bonterra at Woodforest — a 700-acre neighborhood that is exclusive to people ages 55 and older — began in 2014. Along with nine model homes, the community also opened its amenity complex that year, which includes a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse, fitness room, veranda with an outdoor kitchen, a resort-style pool, a hot tub, fire pit and courts for pickleball and bocce ball. “Bonterra at Woodforest was an early entry into Houston’s active-adult residential landscape when it opened and was quickly followed by other developments catering to the over-55 demographic,” said Virgil Yoakum, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Woodforest. “With elaborate amenities, included yard maintenance and a wide selection of homes, we set the standard for what active adults could expect.” That wide selection of homes is now limited to fewer than a dozen homes by Taylor Morrison and Darling Homes. Two homes are ready for immediate move-in. Taylor Morrison’s Balsam design at 289 W. Stargazer Lily Bend has two bedrooms and two full baths within 1,446 square feet. It is priced in the low $370,000s. The 1501 Darling design at 120 Dandelion Way offers two bedrooms and two full baths within 1,752 square feet. Priced in the $470,000s, the home also has flex space. Both homes feature open-concept gathering spaces, a large kitchen island and covered patio. The other homes have staggered completion dates between May and August. They range in price from the $410,000s to the $680,000s and offer up to 2,830 square feet. Features of the single-story homes that might be beneficial to older adults include wide doorways, ample lighting and lever doorknobs. In addition to exclusive neighborhood amenities, Bonterra residents also have access to other amenities in Woodforest, including numerous parks, a dog park, tennis and basketball courts, and pools at Forest Island and The Palm. Opening this summer is The Vue at The Crest Park, a 10-acre space with a pool and 4,000-square-foot party pavilion. Future phases of the park could include a dog park and disc golf course.
