Supporting Magnolia ISD!

Long before we welcome our first resident to Kresston, Johnson Development is already establishing itself as a good community partner by being a gold sponsor of this year’s Magnolia Education Foundation Golf Tournament.

The tournament raised $30,000 for the district’s teachers and students through sponsorships, registration fees, a raffle and silent and live auctions. The foundation will use these and other funds for awards to teachers, bus drivers and monitors; grants that impact students in one or more classrooms; and college scholarships. Since the foundation began in 2001, it has awarded approximately $910,000 in grants. And since 2019, the foundation has handed out $20,000 in scholarships to Magnolia seniors.

The foundation has also established an endowment fund with Lone Star College, awarding a deserving senior a scholarship to the school. Scholarships are also awarded to full-time employees interested in obtaining an alternative teacher certificate or becoming a teacher. In addition, the foundation supports the Magnolia Reads Jubilee to help fund free summer reading books for elementary and intermediate students.

We were thrilled to support the foundation’s important mission and for our team to meet the many community members who attended the golf tournament.

Our support of Magnolia ISD continues July 25, when we will sponsor the New Teacher Academy for 150 new teachers to the district!
