Cross Creek Ranch - Lamar CISD’s L.E.A.F. Empowers DreamsSeptember 29, 2023
Education is the cornerstone of personal growth and community development, and supporting educational initiatives is a powerful way to invest in the future. Young Cross Creek Ranch residents benefit from Lamar Consolidated ISD’s commitment to empowering educators via the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (L.E.A.F.). Established in 2000 to benefit the students of Lamar CISD (LCISD), L.E.A.F. is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for students and teachers by providing resources and funding for innovative programs, projects and initiatives that might otherwise remain unrealized. Through scholarships and grants, the foundation enables students and teachers to pursue their passions and realize their potential. These grants encourage creativity and excellence in teaching and benefit students across various grade levels. In January, the “Grant Express” — composed of district administrators, community partners, and L.E.A.F. board members — travels throughout the district by bus to surprise teachers in their classrooms with checks. This year, the Express surprised 80 LCISD teachers and staff with $205,327 in classroom innovation grants, including cultural immersion activities and science dissection stations. Over the past 23 years, L.E.A.F. has raised more than $4.7 million to fund teacher grants and district-level programming such as Camp Connect, Girls on the Run, STEAM Camp, scholarships, Special Needs Prom, New Teacher Dinner and Family Connect initiatives. L.E.A.F also provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors, helping them pursue higher education and achieve their academic and career aspirations. Cross Creek Ranch is proud that many of our students attend LCISD schools. We’re certain their future will be bright. |
