Woodforest - Hit the Nearest Texas State Park With Free Park PassOctober 17, 2023
Thinking about hitting the road? Why not head to one of Texas’ beautiful state parks for unbelievable outdoor adventures? We’ll even help! Just purchase a new home in Woodforest by Oct. 31 and we’ll give you a free Texas State Park Pass good for one year! To get you started, here are some parks just two hours away from Woodforest. Approximately one hour away is beautiful Lake Livingston State Park. Here, you can boat, swim and fish in the 90,000-acre lake. On the shore, you’ll find hiking trails, picnic spots and mountain bike trails. Campsites are available for overnight stays. Just north of Woodforest, Huntsville State Park offers hikers more than 21 miles of trails set among shady trees. Fish, swim or kayak on Lake Raven. There are more than 160 campsites available. Nature unfolds in a myriad of ways at this beautiful park known for 37 miles of paved and unpaved trails, a fishing pier and alligator sightings. Horses are allowed on multi-use trails. Campsites can be reserved. Kids will have fun at the nature center. What do you like to do? At Galveston Island State Park, you can do it all. Head to the beach and worship the sun. Travel bayside and swim, fish, picnic, bird watch, hike, mountain bike, paddle, camp, geocache, study nature or just relax. Head west for approximately 1.5 hours until you get to this state park that combines outdoor adventure with Texas history. Explore the hike-and-bike trails, camp, picnic or visit the headquarters for Stephen F. Austin’s original colony. Beautiful Buescher State Park is about two hours away from Woodforest but it’s worth the drive. Set up camp, then take the family out for a bike ride or a hike. If you get tired of the scenery, you can always drive into Bastrop for a concert. Remember Remember to check the parks' operating hours and any special regulations before planning your visit.
