Grand Central Park - Outrun Hunger Was Fun for Everyone

This June, Grand Central Park hosted the Montgomery County Food Bank  Outrun Hunger Fun Run. The event was fun for everyone and raised enough money to fund approximately 205,000 meals for children, families and seniors in need throughout Montgomery County.

A record-breaking 465 participants laced up their running shoes for the event which featured a timed 5K trail run and a 1K color dash. After the race, runners, walkers and their cheering sections were invited to celebrate at our Party Pavilion. There they were able to munch on their favorite food truck dishes, dance to tunes spun by a DJ and memorialize the occasion with photos. Kids had their very own zone to play in.

Many participants chose to use the run as an opportunity to fundraise for the food bank. The top team fundraiser was Better Bookkeepers, raising $1,000 to benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank. The top individual fundraiser was Grace Manes who raised $236.

The Montgomery County Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger by providing nutritional meals to Montgomery County families, children and seniors in need.
