Woodforest - Woodforest Wins Best Overall CommunityJuly 23, 2024
Among a highly competitive field of residential communities in Texas, Woodforest has won the title of Best Overall Community (More Than 600 Acres) in the Texas Association of Builders Star Awards. The prestigious award comes as Woodforest is in final stages of development. It considers a variety of development aspects, including a mix of land uses, access to the natural environment, a variety of housing choices, pedestrian-friendly access and the use of land in an efficient and innovative manner. Woodforest scores on each point. With parks, pools, sports fields, a robust retail sector, a school, church, medical offices and more, it has all the components of an ideal hometown. With homes for first-time buyers to custom home buyers and even those 55+ buyers, the community allows families to move up and move down as their needs dictate. These homes are nestled into a wooded landscape, as are the parks, pools and other amenities within walking distance of many homes. Christine Allen Nature Park is 33 acres of waterways, trails and an open expanse. Residents can also take their golf carts to Pine Market, an outdoor retail center, for shopping, dining and entertainment. Well-designed enclaves of cul-de-sacs minimize traffic, and major thoroughfares allow residents to easily navigate their way through the community with multiple options to get home. Home sales in Woodforest began in 2009, and it wasn’t long before Woodforest was ranked among the nation’s 25 top-selling master-planned communities. It has been ranked nationally nine times. Nearly 5,000homes have sold in the community since its inception. CVS Pharmacy was the first retail establishment to open in Woodforest, debuting in 2015. Today, there are more than 60 businesses spread across four commercial districts in Woodforest, including Pine Market, which opened in 2021. Adding to the appeal of Woodforest is Stewart Elementary (opened in 2014) and The Church at Woodforest, which opened its brick-and-mortar church in 2019. Woodforest Golf Club and 17 parks and amenity complexes can also be found throughout the community. We are thrilled to be considered the best large community in Texas and even more so that we’re home to more than 13,000 residents.
