Harvest Green - Harvest Green Plans Zesty New Amenity Complex

Harvest Green plans to add a little zest to residents' lives with the construction of a new citrus-themed amenity complex, aptly named The Slice.

Slated to open next summer, The Slice will be the Richmond community's second amenity complex that includes a pool. It will be located in Harvest Green's 630-acre, 1,250-home expansion that was announced in 2021.

Designed by SWA, The Slice will feature a colorful water play area with two pools shaped to look like grapefruit slices, two water slides, a splash pad and shaded lounging area, all adorned in bright shades of pink and yellow. The pool house, designed by Tramonte Design Studio, complements the theme.

"We like to be whimsical around here," said David Hogue, Vice President and General Manager of Harvest Green. "We wanted The Slice to reflect our position as Houston's premier agrihood while also serving as a joyful spot where families can relax and make lasting memories."

In addition to the water features, The Slice will also offer an event lawn, pickleball court, space for food trucks and bathrooms. A citrus mural painting on the pool house will enhance the theme.

The playground design includes a play structure shaped like a tractor, swings, climbing feature and shade structure. A custom play mound, reminiscent of a “row” of crops on a farm, will house a slide. There will also be a sensory play area with a sand pit and water table adding to the interactive experience.

"When designing the playground, we followed principles of universal design in an effort to provide a variety of play options for various age groups and abilities," said Olivia Pinner, a landscape architect with SWA.

The Slice joins Harvest Green’s extensive list of amenities, including The Farmhouse Recreation Center, 12-acre Village Farm, tennis courts at Harvest Yard, sports fields, trails, pocket parks and dog park.
