Harvest Green is On the Menu

Harvest Green - Harvest Green is On the Menu

August 26, 2024

What’s on the menu at some of your favorite area restaurants? Harvest Green produce!

Approximately 10 percent of the organic produce we grow on the Village Farm is used by chefs to create delicious seasonal dishes. This summer we had four Houston-area restaurants purchasing everything from eggplant to potato greens.

Andiron in Houston — an elegant Texas steakhouse known for smoked meats and seafood, craft cocktails and delicious sides — has been ordering long beans, zucchini, and Italian peppers from us for its seasonal menu.

Chef Travis McShane's Ostia is a farm-to-table experience located in Montrose. The light Mediterranean fare gets a boost from Harvest Green Italian peppers, eggplant and okra during the summer season.

Tiny Champions is a neighborhood joint in the East End cooking up a seasonal menu of delicious pizza, pasta and veggie sides. They love to order sweet potato greens from us for their seasonal greens pizza along with Italian basil, eggplants and peppers.

Nancy's Hustle, also located in the East End, is a modern bistro serving up European-style dishes such as chilled oysters, lamb tartare, pork and butter dumplings and more. You’ll often find our tomatoes and greens gracing their delicious meals.

We get additional restaurant orders in the fall and spring when we have more baby greens, carrots and tomatoes. The biggest sellers for restaurants are baby greens, carrots, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, scallions, leeks, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, okra and long beans.

Why do chefs love our produce? Well, it’s fresh, organic and seasonal. Who doesn’t want that on their plate? If you want to live where restaurant quality produce is grown, visit Harvest Green today. We can show you around the farm, and once you move in, you can help with the chores, farm your own plot, or sit back and have produce delivered right to your door!
