It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
December 02, 2024
No surprise — we do holidays big! Our communities are bright with festive fun, from visits with Santa to events just for Santa’s helpers age 21+. Of course, we also mix in a good deal of doing good.
While this list is no way complete, here is a sampling of holiday happenings in a Johnson community.
Grand Central Park
Toy Drive Our Conroe community is one of several hosting a toy drive. Residents are always generous during this annual drive, but the public is also encouraged to take part, as well. Bring a new, unwrapped toy by Dec. 10 to either The Lake House, 1039 Lake House Drive or The Finding Place, 750 Grand Central Parkway. Toys will be given to the Conroe Police Department to assist with their yearly toy drive.
Fire & Ice Holiday Party Residents age 21+ will enjoy a mesmerizing evening filled with fiery festivities and icy elegance.
Santa’s Workshop Santa will be onsite for an afternoon of fun for younger residents. A holiday train and snow globe add to the merriment.
Letters to the North Pole Children will meet to write letters of holiday wishes and deposit them in a special box bound for the North Pole. Later in the month, a team of resident “elves” will answer the letters, which will be sent back to the children.
Riverstone
Tree Lighting & Holiday Market The holidays kicked off a little early in Riverstone with the annual Tree Lighting event, which featured live music, letters to Santa and a visit from St. Nick. The next day, the community invited in the public for the yearly Riverstone Holiday Market that featured dozens of vendors and collected canned goods for Second Mile Mission.
Club 55! Holly Jolly Holiday Party Riverstone residents ages 55+ are once again showing there’s no slowing down with an exclusive holiday party. This is one of many events held throughout the year for Riverstone’s active adults.
Storytime with Mrs. Claus Mrs. Claus is letting Santa stay at the North Pole with the elves while she heads to Riverstone to entertain young residents with special holiday tales.
Cross Creek Ranch and Cross Creek West
Sugar & Stories: Cookie Decorating and Storytime Sweet treats and enchanting tales will brighten this holiday spectacle, with families gathered to decorate (and eat!) cookies and then settle down for heartwarming tales of holiday cheer.
Trip to Santa’s Wonderland Residents are hitting the road to go to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station for a breathtaking Trail of Lights and plenty of holiday cheer.
Wrap & Yap Wrapping presents is more fun when you do it with friends. Residents will wrap, chat and get into the holiday spirit with friends and neighbors. Wrapping essentials and refreshments supplied!
Trinity Falls
Mrs. Claus Storytime & Activities Mrs. Claus will visit our McKinney community for an evening of delightful stories and holiday magic in an interactive, hands-on event.
FA-LA-LA Fest This family fun affair features holiday tunes from the Texas Blues Brothers, a chance to take photos with Santa, face painting, balloon artists, a trackless train and more.
Viridian
Tree Lighting and Drone Show This event will light up the night as residents light the community tree, with orchestrated drone exhibition to follow. There will also be cookies, cocoa and photos with Santa.
Santa Paws & Claws Santa will be back to take photos with four-legged family members during this special event.
Holiday Movie Residents will enjoy a showing of Elf on the Shelf as well as popcorn and snacks during this community event.
Gingerbread Jubilee Our Arlington community isn’t done with Santa yet — he and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for the Gingerbread Jubilee. This time, they’re bringing along reindeer, too! There will also be snow slides, a trackless train, a Sugar Rush playland and food trucks.
Lake Arrowhead
Christmas Party Residents of our Atlanta-area community will sit down for a night of dinner, drinks and dancing during the annual Christmas party. The menu features four sophisticated course with drinks followed by an evening of dancing.
Holiday Music Trivia Dinner at the Lake Arrowhead clubhouse is followed by music trivia with Dave Pastush featuring a range of holiday selections.
Sienna
Giving Tree Lighting Sienna in Missouri City is embracing the charitable aspect of the holidays with the lighting of a 45-foot Giving Tree. Residents are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. There will also be caroling, ornament-making, hot cocoa, food trucks and a holiday photo booth.
Holiday Cookie Exchange Sienna’s active adults are bringing their tastiest holiday sweet treats for a cookie exchange that will have everyone leaving with plates of goodies to share with their families.
